# Look and feel

> Match the widget to your site, and set its messages, suggestion chips and session behavior.

Everything on this page is in the agent's **Widget** tab, with a live preview beside the settings.

## Appearance & Layout

| Section | What you can set |

| **Layout & Position** | Corner or bottom-center position, size, border radius, shadow, an icon-only launcher, a button pulse (once on load, loop, or on hover), an entrance animation (fade in or slide up), text size, font, edge padding, and [inline embedding](https://docs.julian.11x.ai/chat/install.md#floating-or-inline) |
| **Theme & Icon** | Light, dark, or **Auto** to follow the visitor's device setting; upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP icon, shown as a circle |
| **Colors** | Colors for each part of the widget: launcher, header, conversation, both message bubbles, input box, buttons, suggestion chips. Optionally a separate dark palette |
| **Text & Labels** | The agent's display name, the header title, and the status message shown before a conversation starts |

## Chat

| Section | What you can set |
| - | - |
| **Chat Settings** | The first message, the input placeholder, and the message shown when a chat ends. **Message Sounds** (with an optional mute button), **Message Timestamps**, and **Resume Past Chats**, which lets returning visitors reopen and continue earlier chats |
| **Suggestions** | Chips visitors can click to start a conversation: each has the button text and the message it sends. Turn on **Dynamic follow-up suggestions** to show new chips after each reply, based on the conversation |
| **Cache & Session** | How long a visitor's conversation is kept in their browser (4 hours by default), and an optional refresh button that lets visitors start over |
